Are Indians safe and secure?????

On Thrusday morning, I just woke up to the sound of my SMS in my new E61i mobile. With not a mood to wake up so early at eight o clock in my Bench life, i slowly opened my message and read it.I was shocked to read the Breaking News from MyToday."War on Mumbai, terrorists are holed up in three places in Mumbai and NSG Commandos are engaging them." With an assumed conclusion in my mind that this is just another terrorist attack in Mumbai, i got up and switched on the TV in my room. But to my surprise,i saw the live footages in all the news channel showing the terrorists and their dastardly acts.Till thursday evening i was with a notion that it was a minor attack and the terrorists had not come with a definite plan to damage the image of our Developing India. I was watching all the LIVE coverages in the news channels for the whole day and was startled to see more details about the plans of the terrorists.
As the whole country watched for the next two days , the minute details about the Terror plot were unfolded by the media. The news channels were competing against each other to give more details/perceptions about the plans of the terrorists.
Few days earlier i read an article in one of the famous newsletters.....It came out with a point that Indian Students are targeted in US and Indians are unsafe there......But i just have a simple question in my mind.....which even the Government cannot answer confidently....." ARE INDIANS SAFE AND SECURE IN INDIA????? " Each and every one of us have the answer to this question......We are helpless....and we need to understand and accept this hard truth......With more news coming about this terror plot....we feel more and more insecure in our own motherland.......
After every attack our honourable politicians come out with the same old replies.... " We are deeply saddened by the attacks and a strict action would be initiated against the guilty.....We are working out on a separate mechanism to counter terror ..." All these replies have now become predictable and people now dont give a damn about the statements of the politicians after these kinds of barbaric acts.....It is even more worrying that the politicians start the blamegame even before the whole thing gets over......

Everytime we face the terrorist acts, we think emotionally and as our neighbour says ...we give a knee jerk reaction to the things happening around.......We must realise a point that what we are looking at is just the Tip of an iceberg....we are just looking at the Symptoms of the problem.....We need to solve the problem to make these symptons vanish ............We need to understand that ..WE ARE THE PART OF THE PROBLEM AND WE ARE THE PART OF SOLUTION TOO.....We need to identify a solution to the problem which we are facing ...For this we need a STRONG POLITICAL WILL and the tougher terror laws to handle the people who are involved in such uncivilized acts......... Are we ready with such a strong Political Will???? I am so disappointed to say that ....Our country lacks the political leadership ........and politicians are more worried about the dirty vote bank politics than about the lives of the innocent aam aadmi....
Our politicians should find an amicable solution to the Kashmir problem by involving all parties in bilateral talks.Without a solution to the Kashmir problem, it is really tough to stop these terror strikes happening at different places in India. For the last 20 years, we were blaming the external forces for their involvement in training the terrorists, preparing the plot and providing the logistics to carry out such deadly striked in India. But it has been found in the recent strikes that the terrorism has opened up its new branch in India with more Indian youth getting involved in these activities. This fact has really made us think twice and has created pressure on our politicians to act fast to solve this whole issue.
Our politicians might have won us some great deals for the betterment of the future of the citizens.....but remember a point....No government is successful when it cannot perform the basic responsibility of Securing the life of its citizens.......
I would like to end this blog...with my sincere condolences to all those who have laid down their lives in their struggle against terror....and HATS OFF to all the commandos who saved us from a bigger tragedy than this....

hi gautam

nice to see u blogging

i agree with all ur thoughts expressed in a good n simple stytle

u were talking abt safety of Indians in India in the context of terrorism

and ur solution was change in politcal will and peoples attitude

ya but one more thing is politics based on caste and religion should be eradicated

I think u saw the recent incident of the police in chennai looking at students fighting at each other @ ambedhkar coll which was based on caste conflicts

some political parties are gaining mileage from recent terrorism

So Indians can't be safe in India Until politics in INDIA is SO DIRTY

Appreciate ur comments
bye
