My Life @ TCS - ILP

ILP - THE BEST PHASE OF MY LIFE

Just when I thought that I am going to enjoy, I was sent the call letter from TCS.Infact I should say that I got a series of call letters asking me to report at two different places on the same day same time....Coimbatore and Trivandrum. As We always find it tough to come out of the comfort zone, I made sure that I join the ILP coimbatore batch.

Before I joined ILP, I was really worried about training and other software skills that we were asked to develop.With all discomfort and hesitation I joined TCS on June 20th 2005 - one of the big days of my life.I had few familiar faces in my class - Pranesh, Anand and Nithya.Again, I went into the comfort zone with Anand and Pranesh and got more comfortable in the last maapilai bench.There I found two guys Hari and Ramu - both equally talkative and always fun loving. Initially I had the version that Ramu and Hari are padips...as Hari was from IIT and Ramu was from Anna univ.In a soan of two days, I was able to judge them correctly and could come to conclusion that they also belong to this same bunch of useless brilliant students.

The ILP training started and different staffs came in to teach us different technologies and concepts.We slowly started learning things ofcourse with all fun in the class.We five used to comment a lot from the back bench disturbing every teacher who came to class. We used to crack jokes at everything.The only problem I had was dubbing every joke from tamil to english to make every one of my north indian friends to understand.Apart from these few things, we loved ILP like anything.Slowly we got used to the hectic schedule in ILP. Coimbatore ILP is considered to be the worst ILP centers with classes from 08:30 in the morning to 02:00 A.M in the early morning. Inspite of the busy schedule, we had all the guaranteed fun in the lab, C Class, Life Skills and Foreign Language classes.

The French and life skills classes were the most lovable classes of all.The fact that "It is always entertaining to see somebody in trouble" made us enjoy these classes.Both these classes were highly interactive and we used to wait for these classes every week.

Day and night, we started working for the mini project.For me I had the Loan Monitoring System stuff. We had the small team headed by the Current pole like Ramu Valliappan.We had Sameer and Suhita in the team.I could still remember that every nite in the project meeting in the Mangala hotel room, the first step was to convince Suhita and make her smile (i.e to stop her tears).....Once this step gets over in half an hour, we would have meeting for five minutes and would disperse, allowing Ramu to continue the project work.The biggest help Sameer and myself did for Ramu was that we did not disturb him during the project work.Without this help we would have never completed the project.

And another important thing I can never forget - the skits that we used to have in various classes.We had the perfect fun during the skits.Once we had the sherlock home skit, where every one of us decided on a small action plan and started acting.Dhivya played the key role in the skit and this culprit suddenly got confused and changed the whole storyline. We had all the characters performing their own roles, dialogues and infact actions too. And the important point was - Ramu the great was playing the role of a dead man.This #!@#!@ started laughing when Dhivya changed everything. He was supposed to be dead and this guy was laughing throghout the skit in a dead man's posture. Everyone in the room enjoyed starting from the persons in the skit, audience and the evaluators. 8-)

If I start sharing all the incidents and events that happened in my ILP, this would go on and on....So i will just quote few events that can never be erased out of my memory!!

* Manish Joshi's "Yo Yo"
* Regular Chennai Get togethers with the help of Dinks!!!
etc etc.....
Last...I am doubtful whether i would be getting such surprise package again in my life or not....I really loved and enjoyed it a lot....I am happy that I am still in touch with most of my ILP friends even after four years....

Would be praying to God to get this honeymoon period again!! :)
